The Challenges of the Contemporary World in Promoting Peace Education.
The article provides an exploration of the contemporary challenges faced in the promotion of peace education, within the context of crises of a moral, cultural, and technological nature, which have the capacity to affect social cohesion and human values. Peace education is defined as a complex process of consciousness-raising based on respect, dialogue, cooperation, and global responsibility. The study emphasises the necessity to transform education into a medium for cultivating empathy, critical thinking, and solidarity, with the objective of counteracting the effects of ideological polarisation, digital disinformation, and moral relativism. The analysis emphasises the pivotal role of educational institutions and teaching professionals in cultivating a culture of nonviolence, proposing specific courses of action that include the integration of peace education into the curriculum, the training of teachers, the establishment of community partnerships, and the accountability of media entities. The article concludes that peace education is not merely a theoretical dimension, but rather an essential condition for the moral and cultural rebirth of contemporary society, representing the only sustainable path to balance and humanity.
